
Equipment: 1 cup jar, and refrigerator (or cooler)
Ingredients:
- 1/2 c steel-cut oats
- 1/2 c milk
- 2 tbsp plain yogurt
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp ground flaxseed (optional)
- 1 tsp chia seeds (optional)
- 2 tbsp applesauce
- Sliced strawberries
Directions:
In a one cup jar, add all the ingredients and put the lid on. Shake well to combine. Refrigerate overnight, and eat in the morning chilled (the milk and yogurt will soak into the oats).
Refrigerate for up to two days.
Options:
Adding the ground flaxseed and chia seeds make this recipe more health-packed! Flaxseed contains omega-3 fats, and chia seeds help cleanse your body.
It's healthiest to use plain yogurt, as flavored versions contain added sugars.
